Circuit or Club of the Year 2016 Results
This Award was judged by a panel.
Winner – Buckmore Park Kart Circuit
The Buckmore Park circuit has had lots of improvements made to it over the last year with new kerbs, barriers and run off areas being a few of many things to be improved to the circuit. It’s fair to say it now looks one of the nicest tracks in the country with images including the one of Archie Tillett below being one of many to be published. It looks like the Paul Ricard of Karting now and all those improvements along with 518 votes were enough for Buckmore Park to take the win.
Highly Commended – Forest Edge Kart Club
Forest Edge Kart Club was another entry to receive votes in the hundreds and it’s no surprise. They produce some of the biggest grids in the country and are almost level if not level with the liked of Trent Valley Kart Club. They also hosted a round of LGM and the Rotax 177 ‘O’ Plate with the winner going to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals!
Highly Commended – Glan-Y-Gors Karting
GYG again played host to both the Super One and LGM Championships this year and continue to fall into the list of most drivers favourite circuits. Every time we ask a driver to name their four favourite circuits nine times out of ten GYG will be on that list. This year they have been a big presence on social media and their 462 votes had them close to winning the Award.
Highly Commended – Clay Pigeon Raceway
Clay Pigeon Raceway was the most popular circuit/club during the nomination period with customers happy with the improvements that have been made along with the friendly atmosphere caused by the staff. A couple of months ago it was announced that Clay Pigeon would return to the Super One calendar after a four year absence and that helped them to be highly commended.
Editor’s Special Mention – Trent Valley Kart Club
To my surprise Trent Valley Kart Club really struggled to get many votes this year, but in my opinion they continue to be at the forefront of British Karting. They always have sell out club meetings and the Kartmasters and IAME European Open events were fantastic last year. It was recently announced that the best drivers in the World will be coming to PFI next year for the CIK-FIA World Championships!
