This weekend Super One returns to Fulbeck in Lincolnshire for the first time in six years. In preparation we decided to look back at some of the best moments Fulbeck has produced in recent years.

With it also being the British Grand Prix this weekend at Silverstone, we also included a couple of drivers who will be racing in the GP3 class who were once at Fulbeck for Super One themselves.

2009 – Jordan King in KF3

In 2009, Jordan King was racing in the KF3 class against the likes of Jake Dennis, Ben Barnicoat and Charlie Eastwood. In what was the final round of the season, Jordan had a 3rd and 4th in the finals which helped him secure 6th in the championship.

Jordan, who now races in GP2 with Racing Engineering, was beaten to the title by two current GP3 drivers, Alex Albon and Jake Dennis. Jordan won the sprint race at the Red Bull Ring last time out which promoted him to 9th in the championship. There’s no doubt he’ll be pushing for a similar result on home soil this weekend.

2008 – Sam Dimelow the rain master!

This was the year Sam Dimelow won the Senior TKM 4 Stroke final by over 40 seconds! It was round 4 of the championship and Sam, the number 3 seed, had been on good form all weekend. But going into the final who would of expected the race to unfold like it eventually did.

It was clearly a wet track with Sam 10 seconds off the pace, but he had a two second per lap advantage over the rest of the field and cleared off to win by almost a lap! Finishing behind Sam was Rhys Jenkins and Chris Lipscomb.

Potential rain is forecast for this weekend, could we see a similar race repeat itself eight years on….

2006 – Aitken and Albon still rivals

In this year, Jack Aitken finished 2nd in Honda Cadet class being beaten to the flag by Alex Albon. Ten years later and Jack still finds himself racing against Alex albeit in the GP3 category. Jack currently sits 12th in the championship after a disappointing start to the season with Alex having much better luck in 2nd.

They’ll both be in track at Silverstone this weekend with Jack undoubtedly looking to kick his season into gear at his home race.

2005 – Scott Allen, from racer to team boss!

In 2005, Scott Allan was racing in the Formula TKM class. In a weekend that started with a 3rd place in heat one, Scott’s weekend slowly got worse, as did his luck, as he eventually finished 22nd in the final, a lap down from race winner Shaun Carter. Eleven years on and Scott now runs the Jade Kart race team with top Junior X30 drivers, Angus Fender and Ethan Pitt in the awning this weekend.

They’ve both had a great season so far with Fender leading the championship just four points ahead of Pitt. They’ll be hoping no bad luck is back to haunt Scott Allen this weekend!
