Are drop down bumpers affecting quality of racing?

QUESTION OF THE WEEK!

Welcome to our weekly ‘Question of the week’ feature. Every Monday we’ll be throwing out questions for you to answer and debate. If you have any suggestions of your own, send them in to news@kartingmagazine.com

Question: Are drop down bumpers affecting the quality of racing?

The arrival of the the drop down bumpers at the end of last year caused very mixed reactions around the karting paddocks of the UK. Some said it was just what karting needed whilst others seemed to think it was the wrong thing to do.

But it’s here now and has had a good month or two to be put to good use at tracks up and down the country.

So rather than debating on whether it’s working we want to know if you think it’s affected the quality of racing?

Karting produces arguably the best racing in Motorsport, is drop down bumpers going to change that? Has it changed that already?

Karting is unique in the sense you can have six karts all pushing each other along working together. Will the new bumpers make races more spread out and drivers more cautious when it comes to bumper to bumper racing?
