Super One 2015 Review – Part 6

Junior X30 – Phil Hanson

‘Hansom victory for Phil’

It was the first time Super One had ever run a Junior X30 Championship and with only four rounds there was really no room for error. The grid was slightly disappointing in terms of it’s numbers but it was certainly not short of quality! Harry Platten quickly put himself as a championship favourite with his flawless weekend at Llandow but the ever improving Phil Hanson looked more determined than anyone to stop him! In my opinion this championship was decided at the penultimate round at Shenington where Hanson went unbeaten all weekend at a track that usually provides close racing. This gave him a lead of twelve points over Platten meaning all he needed to do at PF was keep his nose clean which he did. For good measure he even beat Platten in both Finals making him, in my opinion, a very deserved champion!

Special Mention – Hugo Bentley-Ellis

Hugo must of left PFI with a wry smile on his face! It was the only round he competed in all season but he came in and went unbeaten all weekend perhaps showing what he could have done had he done the full season! I bet the rest of the field will be glad to see the back of him….for now!
