TKM Extreme – Matt England

‘England on top!’

When Matt England went out and took two podiums at the end of last season I immediately thought that it would be the changing point in this young man’s karting career. Okay so technically you would have to put ‘O’ plate James Ogden as favourite but as a betting man my money would have always been on England. He wasn’t exactly dominant; he took five wins but as others would run into drama’s he would always be there on the podium. He was in the top three on points scored at each round six times, it was only the last round where he finished 7th that he didn’t but he then used that as his dropped score so I suppose it didn’t matter anyway! In the end he finished 18 points clear of Al Paterson with Ogden 3rd. I don’t know what his plans are for next year but I’d like to see what he could do in a Senior X30..

Special Mention – Owain Rosser

He may have finished 5th in the championship but Owain Rosser on several occasions proved he could have finished a lot higher! His 2nd place at Whilton could be considered one of the drives of the season and his double podium at PFI was impressive too. He was also cruelly denied victory at Shenington and he will certainly be the one to watch next season!
