Super One 2015 Review – Part 9

Senior X30 – Josh Collings

‘Consistency is key!’

Senior X30 was also making it’s debut in Super One and again it was a hugely disappointing turnout but that did not stop it from being entertaining. Dean Hale made his return to National level karting after several years absent and he probably surprised a lot of people running eventual champion Josh Collings right to the last Final! In my opinion this championship was decided in consistency during the heats. Hale only did five races this year compared to Collings multiple and that showed as he would do very well in the Finals but was regularly inconsistent in the heats. This especially hurt him at the last round where he was the fifth highest scorer of the round overall despite a podium in one of the Finals. He lost out in the end by just eight points after leading by nine points going into the finale. So credit to the Welsh man for turning it round!

Special Mention – Matt Davies

Although Matt Davies only competed in two rounds this year he proved that had he done the full season he may have won it! He took a 2nd and 1st at Shenington and two 5th’s at PFI and I think that deserves a mention!
