  • Margutti Trophy
Ben Hanley has definitely marked himself out as the driver to beat in Europe this year as he followed up his Formula A Winter Cup success with another victory, this time at the prestigious Margutti Trophy at Parma.

  • Super 1 Series
The premier karting championship in the UK is now underway. We have reports from the opening rounds of the MSA series at Three Sisters and the TKM series at Buckmore Park, plus news of how one lucky Super 1 driver is going to win a Formula BMW test at Valencia in Spain!

  • ELK & the KGB!
Ok, it's nothing to do with Russian secret agents but it's still interesting stuff. Martin Capenhurst travelled to Italy with ELK to visit the Parolin factory where they make over 5,000 chassis a year, including the KGB range which ELK are now importing.

  • Rotax Euro Challenge
New this year is a multi-round European series for the Rotax classes including the two-speed RM1. The first round was at Pomposa, Italy and British and Irish drivers led by Tristram Oman locked out the Senior podium. Well done lads.

  • Advanced Driver Training
Last year our Assistant Editor James Brown went on a Protrain training course at Whilton Mill. This year we sent him to Buckmore Park to be coached by former British Champion Tom Sisley on a Thunderkart with his every move recorded by a Pi datalogger. James found the coaching invaluable and you could too as we have got a free competition to win an identical experience.

  • New Maxter Motors
Carlo Forni has been delving inside the latest 100cc offering from Italian company Maxter. You may think motors don't change very much from one homologation to another but they do, you just have to look in the right places. We've also got news of Maxter's first 125 gearbox motor, the MX-125 04.
