The First Kart As karting enters its 50th anniversary year we have a special feature on the kart that started it all, the very first kart, numero uno, Number 1! In August 1956 Art Ingels and Lou Borelli decided to make a small vehicle to use in the pit areas at car race meetings, little did they know that they were about to start a craze which has lasted half a century!
