The countdown for the first round of the Academy Trophy CIK 2016 is almost finished, in Essay (France) from the 22nd to 24th of April the international championship reserved to young kart drivers from all around the world will see OTK Kart Group as the official supplier of all material, Exprit chassis powered by Vortex engines, as well as the Dakton data capture system.
Our staff has meticulously prepared each aspect of the work, in order to fulfill in the best way the task, according to tender, we were given by the International Federation. The Academy Trophy is reserved for young drivers aged 13 to 15 years old and in Essay drivers on track will be 51 (set limit), coming from 39 different countries.
The event format sees the beginning of all activities on Wednesday evening (April 20th) with the drawing of lots of the material (chassis and engine). The engine will be assigned at the beginning of each weekend race while the chassis remains the same for all three events scheduled for the Academy Trophy. Chassis will be equal for everybody and the CIK-FIA technical staff will be in charge of the will be punching out of chassis to ensure maximum transparency to the drivers.
The technical package given to drivers has the following outstanding features: Vortex DDJ engine with dell’Orto carburettor VHST 24mm, KG nitro intake silencer, CIK FIA homologated exhaust and Roklube lubricant. As for the chassis, it will be the Exprit Noesis with rear brake system (SA2) only. The kart configuration given to all drivers provides the “N” type axle and OTK MXJ 130-210 wheels. The color design of the chassis was specially designed by the OTK Kart Group Graphic Department according to CIK requests.
Completing the Vortex-Exprit engine-chassis combination there will be the Dakton XTRA data capture system, equipped with infrared sensor for recording all lap times. Inside the paddock the Academy drivers will have a dedicated space around the truck that OTK expressly set up for this championship and the OTK-Academy staff will be ready to meet the demands of the drivers, within the limits imposed by the Regulations of this interesting CIK-FIA Trophy
