Daytona opt for Rotax Max EVO upgrade

Daytona Motorsport have ordered a brand new fleet of Dmax Karts, featuring the brand new Rotax Max EVO engine.

The new EVO was only announced in November and the first 50 Evo engines coming the UK will be delivered to Daytona in February and will be fitted to the brand new fleet of Birel rolling chassis to give the TW Steel Dmax championship series a completely brand new fleet of karts.

The new engine, which Karting magazine covered in depth last month, comprises all new internals and promises vastly improved parity between engines. Richard Brunning, Daytona’s Technical Director, has already got his hands on the first engine and has been testing it so that he can plan the perfect set up to guarantee 50 evenly matched TW Steel Dmax Karts for this year’s championship.

“The new engines have significantly smaller tolerances than the previous ones,” said Brunning, “and the work Rotax have done to ensure that they offer increased reliability is great news for my team who have to deliver perfect karts at every round of the 2015 Champs”.
