As part of winning the 2015 Super FKS Championship it was confirmed yesterday that Ross Martin will be receiving a fully funded season in the MSA Formula Championship with Fortec Motorsport courtesy of Formula Kart Stars.
Ross won seven out of the first eight rounds last season which helped him wrap up the title before the last round of the season at Glan-Y-Gors. Sean Rudge produced a fine come back winning the last four rounds but it was unfortunately too little too late.
Ross went out to Valencia in Spain to do some winter testing in December with the British team and yesterday it was officially announced that he’ll be competing in the MSA Formula Championship which is part of the hugely popular BTCC support package.
This is the perfect stepping stone for Ross as a racer but also the opportunity of a lifetime! With Fortec also being renowned as one of the best teams on the grid it has also given him a solid chance to challenge for consistent podiums and wins.
This year’s Super FKS winner will also win a fully funded season in single seaters.
On the deal Ross Martin commented: “I feel very grateful with the opportunity that FKS have given me for 2016. I’m very excited to be running with Fortec Motorsport, knowing they’re one of the best teams on the grid, I’m confident of podiums and hopefully wins later in the season. I have a busy testing schedule between now and Brands Hatch (Round 1) so I will be going in as prepared as anyone on the grid. All season I’ve known this was the prize (a fully season in single seaters) and it was for that reason I chose FKS over any other championship last year. I’d fully recommend anyone out there looking to move into cars to compete in FKS, it’s certainly the best prize I’ve seen in British Motorsport for the last 10 years!”
