Former Easykart racer and BRDC Formula 4 inaugural champion Jake Hughes is targeting a return to the sport at the Easykart World Finals at Jesolo in Italy this season. The 19-year-old will compete in the Formula Renault Northern European Cup this season but has already competed in two recent club championship rounds in a Formula KGP kart at Three Sisters in Wigan and at Rissington. The World Finals take place at the Jesolo circuit near Venice on October 15-19. “I love going back to karting,” Hughes said. “Whenever I can get the chance to it, I like to get back in the seat. At Wigan I was one of only two in the KGP class surrounded by Senior Rotax racers. From the back of the pack we finished first and second. My main target in karting this year will be the World Finals. I’m determined to help the UK team take another victory.” This season’s KGP team will consist of a maximum of 12 drivers. The winner of this year’s KGP Super One Series will receive a free entry and race slick tyres for the World Finals.
