Jonathan Hoggard wins at BMC Opener

Johnathan Hoggard continued his impressive early season form by winning the final of the Belgium Max Challenge Round 1 at the Genk Kart Circuit last weekend.

In only his second Senior Rotax race, Hoggard followed up his excellent 4th place finish at the RGMMC Winter Cup in Valencia to beat the field of 27 drivers from across Europe – many of which were Genk specialists.

Guesting for the Daems race team, Johnathan recovered from a poor qualifying where he ended the session 8th fastest to take a 5th and 3rd place finish in Finals 1 and 2.

Starting 4th on the grid for the 16 lap main final he took the lead on lap 4 and showed great composure to control the race from the lead. Driving with great confidence he was able to position his kart to repel the overtaking attempts of the many experienced Genk specialists  for the remaining 12 laps.

The second round takes place at the Spa Francorchamps kart track on 17th April”
