The recently announced CIK anti-contact front bumpers are under serious consideration by the MSA.
The bumpers drop down on impact forcing the driver to pit, so hopefully cutting down on contact without relying on an official catching the incident.
These bumpers are designed to cut down on contact and droop, without falling off and causing a hazard, when one driver hits another with a speed difference of more than 7KPH. They are to be trialled at the next Academy Trophy round at Wackersdorf.
The top national and international Clerk, Nigel Edwards, would like to see them trialled in the UK as soon as possible and the MSA Kart Committeep, which Edwards chairs, will be having a special meeting to consider it.
