The OTK Group has been selected for the exclusive supply of karts to competitors in the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy for 2016, 2017 and 2018. Drivers will use the Exprit chassis and the Vortex OK-Junior engine, and the winner will drive for the Tony Kart factory team at the World Junior Championship in Bahrain in late 2016.
“With the arrival of the OTK Group as chassis and engine supplier to the Karting Academy Trophy, it is not just a famous brand becoming involved in this category where young talents are discovered worldwide. Offering the winner of the Trophy the opportunity to compete for free in the CIK-FIA World Junior Championship in Bahrain is a further boost for an already successful series,” said CIK Vice-President Kees Van De Grint.
Drivers in the Academy Trophy must be selected by their national organisation – in 2015 the UK’s selections were Alfie Brown and Callum Bradshaw who finished 5th and 14th overall out of 44.
