TOP CLASS RACING IN THE SUPERKART GRAND PRIX

The 35th running of the British Superkart GP was held for the first time at Donington, and the nature of the fast and flowing East Midlands circuit proved ideal for Superkart racers. In the top line Division 1 Superkart Grand Prix, Liam Morley successfully defended his crown by carving through the field to claim victory, while in the Formula 450 category, in the same race, Stephen Clark retained his British GP title ahead of Phil Rowlands and Charlie Johnson. In the Formula 250 GP, the crown was again defended by Paul Pla? with Gavin Benne? 2nd and Ross Allen 3rd. Perhaps the most exciting race came in the Formula 125 British GP, with Chris Needham again defending his title a?er an enthralling ba?le with Lee Harpham. Both went wheel to wheel for the entirety of the event but Needham was able to cross the line in front when it ma?ered most.Meanwhile, some of Europe’s top karters were in action in the CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship with victories for Czech racer Adam Kout and Germany’s Peter Elkmann.
