World championship heats reveal prefinal grids

The qualifying heats of the CIK-FIA World Championship, is being hosted at La Conca and spectators have been swarming towards the circuit since the beginning of the weekend, with former F1 driver and Formula E team manager  Jarno Trulli was among them. The racing continues this morning, along with the spectacular parade of the 162 drivers participating in the competition. Basz leads in KF.

There were expectations for thrilling duels on track with two Heats remaining to establish who would be starting pole for the Prefinal. The favourites were once again Nicklas Nielsen Karol Basz both winning twice, while the reigning European Champion and the 2013 World Champion Ben Hanley and Tom Joyner scored one victory each. Will the new world champion be one of the established drivers or one of the underdogs?


Sargeant and Fernandez the pole position in KFJ.

KFJ needed 15 heats to establish who, among the 99 participants, would be on pole position for the two Prefinals. Eventually, the American Logan Sargeant and the Venezuelan Sebastian Fernandez had the upper hand. Taking 4 and 3 wins respectively. In Prefinal 1 the second slot on the grid will be filled by the Clement Novalak, who won once, while the second row will be occupied by Caio Collet and the Konsta Lappalainen, both with a victory each too. In Prefinal 2, second place for the Felipe Drugovich who finished ahead of the Ulysse De Pau and the Lorenzo Colombo.
