The Gold Stars Award was created by The British Woman’s Racing Drivers unique motorsport club to promote talented women in Motorsport. Only two of the prestigious Gold Stars Awards are presented annually; one to a Club Member who aspires to a higher level and one to an Elite Member wishing to progress her motorsport career to a professional level.
Abbi Puling was nominated for the BWRDC Elite Gold Stars award this year, only 3 women from motorsport were nominated and Abbi was the youngest ever nominee and the only one from Karting. She was up against Rally Driver Sara Williams and Ashleigh Morris who races in the Scottish BMW Compact Cup.
The Winner was announced at the Autosport Show on Thursday and the Awards were presented by Susie Wolff whilst she was launching her ‘Dare to be Different’ campaign. Abbi was runner up which is a great achievement considering she is only 12 years old!
On the news Abbi commented: “I was really happy to be nominated for this. It was a great experience and I got to meet some really inspiring people through both interviews and photoshoots throughout the weekend at Auto Sport International 2016.”
Abbi is featured in our ‘One To Watch’ article this month so to find out more about her check it out!
