Four rounds into a nine round championship and the pressure’s on
Jonathan Wilkes broke his Bayford championship duck for the year with a strong drive to claim the Junior Rotax class. Taylor Harding in 2nd and Liam Carter in 3rd secured podium fi nishes but were unable to threaten Jonathan at the front.
The Honda Cadet fi nal came down to a four-kart fi ght for the spoils. Ruben Stanislaus bounced back from a disappointing July meeting to take the honour a. er an excellent race long ba. le with Oliver Marsh who fi nished 2nd, James Wharrior came in 3rd with Kristian Brookes 4th. Rashan Chigorimbo was the top IAME.
Cameron Clarke and Steve Bull once again dominated the Senior Rotax grid. A. er 12 high speed laps Cameron took the win by the narrowest of margins. The fast starting Steve Crow made the podium in 3rd. Jay Fairbrass topped the small 177kg entry.
Mini Max star Tyler Sullivan remains unbeaten in Finals at Bayford this summer, Charlie Benne. was Tyler’s nearest challenger but just couldn’t get close enough to mount a challenge. Nelson King recorded his best finish of recent meetings with a solid 3rd. Gustav Burton won the novice award.
The capacity Honda Clubman grid made a fine sight as they lined up for the start. Championship contenders George Leeves and Owen Tolley headed the pack. George took maximum points with Owen in the runners up spot on this occasion. Samuel Heading made the podium in 3rd with Dylan Cooper 4th. The top novices were James Popple, Owen Hizzey and Louis Horsley.
The large Junior Subaru grid provided typically close racing. Jake Paice snatched the win at the final corner with a daring move that pushed Aaron Vincent back into the runners up spot. Sam Kelly looked solid in 3rd place having fended off the early advances of Max Goodwin. Josh Young received the Novice award.
The September meeting took place on Sept 28th. Report to follow.
