Rubens Barrichello – The ‘Hard Charger’

It’s the 2015 Rotax Max Grand Finals at the International Karting Circuit of Portimão in Algarve, Portugal.

A familiar face entered into the DD2 class, former F1 driver Rubens Barrichello. At 43 years old Rubens was expected to be entered into the Masters class, but he decided to mix it with the younger drivers for the biggest event on the Rotax calendar.

Practise went well and Rubens was looking quick, but an unfortunate set of heats left the Brazilian having to tackle the second chance heat. He came through that in 3rd place before going from 32nd to 20th in the Pre-Final.

With 19 of the World’s best ahead you’d of expected him to hardly feature in the final, but look what happens next…
